2008 Scholar-Athlete Awards Ceremony

The 43rd Annual Scholar-Athlete Awards Ceremony took place on December 14, 2007 at Qwest field. For the past 42 years, our annual banquet has been held to recognize and award scholarships to outstanding local football players who excel on the field, in the classroom and in the community.

Jackson Pierce and Kurt Stottlemyer, both from Bothell High, were honored with the top two awards, each receiving a $2000 scholarship from the Seattle NFF Chapter. Congratulations Jackson & Kurt. The Community of Bothell Football is so proud of you both. You both represent the very best of us.

Patrick Ottorbech - Bothell, senior
WHAT HE DID: The KingCo 4A offensive player of the Year and Mr. Offense for Bothell is a first-team running back who gained 1,563 yards and tallied 22 touchdowns. He also was a second-team linebacker as a junior.
HOW HE DID IT: Ottorbech credits his father, a former professional soccer and rugby player in Fiji, for helping him learn the value of hard work and dedication, and his mother for keeping him focused at school.
WHAT HE'LL DO NEXT: The winter will be a time for Ottorbech to work out and prepare for the track season, where he'll run sprints, the 4x100 relay and the triple jump. He'll be visiting several colleges this winter.

Kurt Stottlemyer
Bothell, DB, 5-10, 170, Sr.
Stottlemyer was co-defensive player of the year in the KingCo 4A Crown Division after playing cornerback and locking down opposing teams' top receivers. He finished with three interceptions even though teams rarely threw his way.
