FAQ's - Frequently Asked Questions
Preparation for Fall Football
What is expected from the players during the summer?
If you are in town all players should be at one of the two available sessions for weight training & conditioning Monday thru Thursday. The off-season conditioning program designed for the football program to follow will help prepare your son for the season and hopefully prevent injuries.
What if my family is going on vacation?
Go on vacation before August 20th. Coach expects you to spend time with your family and he will spend time with his family too. BUT…you need to communicate with the coaches that you will be gone.
CampBrotherhood, where is it and why do they go?
Camp Brotherhood proved to be one of the most important experiences the players and coaches had last season. Just ask any coach and they will tell you they learn so much about each player and their level of commitment during these 3 days. The camp is located in Skagit County. They leave as individuals and return a family!
Who pays for Camp Brotherhood?
The Cougar Football Club pays for the entire team and coaching staff. This is made possible by the support the program receives each year at the Booster Auction.
What are Cougar Cards?
Sometime during the 2nd week of practice each player will be given 20 Cougar Cards to sell. The cards will be bigger this year and will be sold for $20 instead of $10 as in the past. The purchaser will receive a discount at a variety of local businesses and restaurants in the Bothell area. Coach Bainter will give the players a few hours after a practice to sell the cards and return with their money. This is a one time, one day sale so it is encouraged to pre-sale some of the cards to get a head start. The money raised by these cards will pay for the new uniforms the team will be wearing this season.
What are buddy pictures?
At picture day, August 23rd, the players can have pictures taken with others in addition to their single portrait. Makes a great keepsake for the O-Line or QB & Receivers, or whomever you’d like to have an official portrait taken with. They will be available to view on-line on the photographer website and you will be able to order directly from them. There will be on pre-ordering of buddy pictures available.
What is the Outback Fundraiser?
Outback Steakhouse in Canyon Park generously opens early on August 30th and cooks a luncheon for a team fundraiser. The cost of the tickets is $10 and each player will be given approx. 3 tickets to sell. Outback donates 100% back to the Cougar Football Club.
What are season ticket packages?
The season ticket purchases are going to be handled differently this year by the school. Instead of printing for individual seasons/sports they are going to offer a 10 home game event pass for $50 that will be good for all sport seasons. This pass offers a discounted adult entry price of $5 per event instead of $6. You can use this pass as a family pass. They will be punching the pass or marking off for each entry at the gate.
The Cougar Football Club will not be collecting money for these passes as we have done in the past. They will be purchased directly through the ASB office at Bothell High when the office reopens in August.
What is a Player Ad?
We provide you with the opportunity to be creative and write words of encouragement and praise to your player to be printed in the 2008 Season Game Day Program. See the Alerts Page to download an order form.
