In a huge one vs. three match-up, top ranked Bothell edged out third ranked Eastlake. The Wolves only fell one spot despite the loss. How much can you really fault a team for losing a hard faught game to the best team in the land? Edmonds-Woodway took over the vacant spot left by Eastlake. The Cougars strengthened their case for being the top team as they beat previously third ranked Eastlake 19-13. With the win, Bothell extended it's KingCo winning streak to 15 games spanning back to 2005. Senior QB Johnny Hekker completed 15-of-29 passes for 228 yards and one touchdown. Bothell trailed 13-3 with 7:10 left to play in the third quarter, but a 97-yard kickoff return for pay dirt and a Hekker field goal tied the game. With the game tied, Ben Moschel intercepted a Ryan Robertson pass. On the ensuing drive, Hekker found TE Craig Monson for a 54-yard touchdown and the go-ahead score. PF-270 PA-40 Bothell Schedule
2 Ferris Spokane 7-0 2 vs Central Valley @ Beat University 49-14
QB Jeff Minnerly had an efficient game, completing 17-of-22 passes for 194 yards and three touchdowns. Two of those were to senior WR Jared Karstetter, who finished the game with three catches for 64 yards. Minnerly spread the ball out evenly, as six Saxon players had 29 or more yards receiving. The Saxons' defense held University to only 57 yards rushing on 29 carries. PF-255 PA-61 Ferris Schedule
3 Woodway Edmonds 7-0 4 @ Marysville-Pilchuck vs Beat Shorewood 35-0
Junior RB Tony Heard rushed for 171 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries as the Warriors shutout the winless Thunderbirds. Antoinne Wafer added a 73-yard punt return for a touchdown, his fifth touchdown this season longer than 70 yards. Woodway held Shorewood to just 42 yards of total offense. 4 Eastlake Sammamish 6-1 3 @ Juanita vs Lost to Bothell 13-19
Eastlake only fell one spot after losing a hard fought game to top ranked Bothell. The Wolves led 13-3 with 7:10 remaining in the game after Tanner Nilson pulled down a 25-yard touchdown pass. However, Eastlake later fumbled in the end zone to give a huge momentum shift to Bothell. Eastlake had a chance to win it with 1:38 left in the game, but senior QB Ryan Robertson threw four incompletions in a row. Senior RB/DB Taylor Lappano struggled in the second half, losing yardage on 15 rushing attempts. Robertson, KingCo's leading passer, threw for 227 yards and two touchdowns on 19-of-29 passing. 5 Oak Harbor Oak Harbor 7-0 5 vs Monroe vs Beat Lake Stevens 24-21
Senior QB Johnny Encinas struggled, completing 15-of-29 passes for 210 yards, two touchdowns and five interceptions. However, the Wildcats overcame a 14-0 first quarter deficit, scoring 21 unanswered points to defeat the pesky Vikings 24-21. Lake Stevens WR Michael Bell caught six passes for 117 yards and one touchdown. Lake Stevens DB/WR Dustin Adams picked off three passes for the second straight week, giving him seven on the season. Adams also caught five passes for 58 yards and one touchdown. Oak Harbor avenged last season's 21-24 loss to Lake Stevens, their only defeat en route to a 4A state championship. 6 Evergreen Vancouver 6-1 6 @ Prairie vs Beat Battle Ground 37-6
After struggling against Skyview last week, the Plainsmen easily downed Battle Ground 37-6. QB Bobby Cowan rushed for two touchdowns and passed for another. Evergreen held Battle Ground to 29 yards of total offense in the first half. Shane Kessler sacked Battle Ground QB Tracy Chelini for the safety. Kyrell Hudson, who began the year as a WR for Evergreen, completed 2-of-2 passes and found the end zone on a 34-yard run. PF-226 PA-101 Evergreen Schedule
7 Lewis & Clark Spokane 6-1 7 @ Gonzaga Prep vs Beat East Valley 30-22
Senior RB Alex Shaw rushed 10 times for 79 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Tigers past East Valley. Senior QB Charlie Eglet completed 11-of-15 passes for 169 yards and one touchdown. PF-190 PA-90 Lewis & Clark Schedule
8 Puyallup Puyallup 6-1 9 @ Curtis @ Beat Spanaway Lake 35-0
Alec Elliott threw three touchdown passes in the first half en route to the Vikings first shutout of the season. D.J. Williams also rushed for one touchdown. PF-228 PA-132 Puyallup Schedule
9 Woodinville Woodinville 5-2 10 @ Skyline @ Beat Roosevelt 21-10
The Falcons overcame five lost fumbles to beat the Raiders 21-10. Peter Roberts completed 16-of-20 passes for 231 yards and two touchdowns. Junior WR Nick Surber caught six balls for 90 yards and one touchdown. Matt Brumfield rushed 21 times for 87 yards and Jacob Zoet intercepted two passes for the Falcons. 10 Gig Harbor Gig Harbor 6-1 NR @ South Kitsap vs Beat Lincoln 14-0
Gig Harbor makes it's first appearance on our list with a 14-0 win over Lincoln. The game was of the defensive brand for both teams. Fortunately for the Tides, their defense was just a little bit better. Gig Harbor held Lincoln's talented RB duo of Chad Walker and Gerrell Wilkins to just 60 yards on 18 carries. The Tides held the Abes to just 134 yards of total offense while forcing four turnovers en route to their third straight shutout of the season and fourth and in five games. Tanner Davis intercepted two passes and returned one 52 yards for a touchdown. Lincoln's defense played exceptionally well also, holding Gig Harbor to 123 yards of total offense.
