Welcome to Cougar Football 2007
Celebrate the Men!
Monday night ecember 17th the coaches wraped up the best season ever. No Christmas present cost more, no accolades could be closer to their hearts, and no celebration is more special than taking the time to say thanks.

Fighting the emotions Coach Bainter recognizes 'his men'. "This team taught me something special...that no team fits into the mold of another one. Each has their own special nature. That is why this one is so hard to let go. I will miss them."

Jonathan Kirchner given the two highest football awards, Most Inspirational and The Drew Albrecht Memorial Cougar award. "He is the man you want all your sons to become" said Coach Bainter. The Most Inspirational award was voted by the team and the Drew Albrecht award voted by the coaches. Congratulations Jon. Well deserved.

Coach Bainter shares a moment and smiles with Mr. Offense, Johnny Hekker. "His leadership on the field and in the huddle was great. As a quarterback coach, you want to be in the huddle to see the faces, Johnnny was my eyes and ears in the huddle and I could trust what he saw."

Mr. Defense Cory Burk is the guy you can count on to make something happen in your favor. In the season, he was the player the other teams tried to avoid in contact. Your strength and your fire are an inspiration, Cory.
Thanks to the coaches for the hundreds and hundreds of hours of prep time even outside the practices and camps and games and visits to the injured.
Thanks to the parents for undying support and financial investment in every event, every fundraiser, every game and outside related activity that makes the Bothell Football program so special.
Thanks to the players for putting in the effort in the weight room, in the school, in the lunch hours, meetings, practices and games. We have never had so much fun as a community!
Thanks to Bothell High School for supporting these programs and helping them be such a success.
Thanks to the WIAA, the the great teams we had a chance to play, and to the families on both sides of the ball that maintained the upmost levels of sportsmanship and fair play.
WE ARE VERY PROUD of each and every Cougar represented. WELL DONE boys, well done.
Coach Bainter and Cougs go to City Hall

Today Bothell Football was given December 13th as Bothell Cougar Football Day in commemoration of all the accomplishments of this year. 13 Wins, yeah! There were a bunch of parents and fans there to see the event. Councilman Del Spivey and Mayor Mark Lamb made the proclamation.

I can't wait for the banquet. I can't wait for Thursday. Bothell Cougar Day, and that is more than football. Even Sideline Smitty in his last article called out the Bothell Football sideline yell by the boys as one of the most exciting You Tube videos on area sports. He is right. "I wanna be a Bothell Cougar, I wanna wear that blue and white" the rest of the yell, the KingCo or State Champion is icing on the cake. Being a Bothell Cougar is what is special, on the campus, in the gym, on the tennis court and golf courses, being a Bothell Cougar is a very remarkable thing.!!!
Let us as a community take time to look at what is REAL. The reality is that even though Bothell did not bring home the shiny gold football, they have the best record of wins in 4A for the state of Washington. They have a better record than Lewis and Clark and all the other 4A teams. Five of those 13 games were shut outs. Another record and testament to our Defense!
Coach Bainter, the other coaches, and the players are men of integrity. Bainter has ALWAYS stood for doing the right thing on and off the field. Coach Bainter was VOTED coach of the year for KingCo 4A by his peers. This is his third in seven years. Any parent who took the time to look at the programs around would be proud to have their kids under such an amazing man. The Bothell football team worked their bodies to the bone to get where they are. 13 is an amazing number. It is better than ever before at Bothell. We have taken time to grieve a bit. Come on Cougs...now lets take time to celebrate. This team has earned it.
Here is additional proof:
| Record | Team | Shut Outs | Points for | Points Against | Total % allowed |
