Alumni of Northshore Unite to Upgrade Scoreboard

Dear Alumni & Community Leaders:

View Flyer or Initiative here.
As alumni of the Northshore School District, and as community leaders, we are in some measure the people we are due to the mentorship of
many others.

The people within our community, our teachers, coaches, advisors, staff and administrators influenced us during our formative years. Now it is our turn to continue the tradition of encouraging student pride with community support and recognition of successful accomplishments. We want to do our part in supporting students, educators and support staff of our great schools. A group of alumni are leading the effort to replace the old Pop Keeney Scoreboard with a new electronic scoreboard with instant replay capability. This private gift to the students, athletes and fans in the Northshore School District is our way of saying how proud we are to be part of this community and to give back some of the blessings we have received.

It is important to understand that the total cost of this project will be a “Privately Funded Donation” and will not require money from the Northshore School District or any of the individual schools. It is also our intent not to reduce contributions to other important activities in our communities and schools. Please consider your support of the new Pop Keeney Stadium Scoreboard as a special, one time contribution and continue to support other needs of our schools and community.

We welcome you to our team. If you can help, please send your contribution to the Cougar Football address listed on the other side of this
brochure, or contact any one of the four Fund Raising Team Leaders or myself. Your generous gift for this worthwhile endeavor will be greatly
appreciated by thousands of students, staff and community members.
Sincerely,
George E. Selg, Project Captain

Why We Need a New Scoreboard:

With Pop Keeney, we are lucky to have one of
the best high school stadiums in the state. For
over 80 years, Pop Keeney Stadium has been a
center for Northshore School District and community
activities. Unfortunately, our current 23
year old scoreboard, oldest in the league, with
limited information, primitive technology and a
lack of visual capability, is the weak link of an otherwise
vibrant community resource.
Right now we have an opportunity to install an
exciting new 18 X 25 ft., state‐of‐the‐art, electronic
scoreboard with a 7 X 13 foot “live” LED
screen. This scoreboard will allow us to announce
upcoming school activities, recognize
outstanding student achievement in all areas,
provide learning opportunities outside classroom
walls, showcase a variety of student talents,
screen student‐created videos, and even prepare
students for careers after graduation.
