Welcome to Cougar Football 2008
Gathering the West's Colors for a Great Game

In Spokane Valley Washington there is a transformation happening. Players who were once arch rivals are gathering together to represent the West in the Washington State All Star Football Classic. Coaches Bainter and Christensen are on hand with coaches from other west side high schools creating a cohesive unit that will compete in this annual summer football classic.

This game is literally a "Who's Who" of Washington players. Where else could you see Demetrius Bronson, Jeff Minnerly, Johnny Hekker, Cory Burk, Ryan Robertson, Justin Glenn, and more players from every conference and league play together.
This game is a must see. Practices have been great and you are in for a great exposition game. I can tell you the competitiveness has not lessened. These are consumate contenders that have exchanged individual high school banners for an East vs. West mentality that is intense.
July 3rd, 7 pm at Central Valley High School Stadium in Spokane Valley is going to be the house of the East-West Rumble. Be there for the show. There are still tickets available at the gate. 7 Dollars for tons of football action....Come on over.

Coaches Bainter and Olason take inventory of the boys and make sure everything is a "go" for Western Washington University training camp. The Cougars have gone to this camp for the last two years. After the scrimmage with Mt. Si, Coach Bainter said, "Now we know what we need to work on." And that is primarily what happens at Western Camp, they work on it, and they work HARD.
The team has a new look in their Spirit Pack Gear. They have cool looking black shorts and a new theme for the year. Each day at camp the older players and the new rookies from junior high will start becoming a team and connecting to form the great players that Bothell High School has come to expect.
"There is a lot of talent on the team," said Bainter, " and for once we have some size. There are a couple of positions we will have to work out and see who steps up, but we should have a good team."

Old timers sit comfortably and wait for the loading of the busses.

A couple of the quarterbacks watch and assess the situation in the lineups.

Boys in blue, white, and some black this year load on the busses.

It doesn't take long for some to settle in. This player was asleep before the bus even left the school.

Newbee Sophomore Jordan Kynaston is all smiles realizing he is finally old enough to head off to camp as a Bothell High School football player. He had two older brothers play for Bothell.
Congratulations Graduates

Players and Coaches
Reminder: Lifting is so important to the program for many reasons. Lifting increases strength to help reduce injuries. Use of the weight room is a standard of training to be a Bothell Cougar.
During the summer there are two sessions a day. The summer times are:
- 10:00 AM to NOON
- 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Once practice starts, there is a special RUN CLUB for those who miss too much lifting...trust us that is not a club you want to join
Coaches are busy gathering the strategies and putting together the schedules for the season. They have also been having some much needed family vacations. We are looking forward to the season.
